Dehradun is home to the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, or UPES. It is a private university that opened its doors that year. According to NIRF’s 2020 rankings, the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun is ranked 167 for its B.Tech program and 66 for its MBA program.

University Of Petroleum And Energy Studies Courses

UPES Dehradun offers various UG, PG and Doctoral courses in different disciplines. below we have mentioned all the courses and their eligibility details for same:

B.Tech

Full-time B.Tech programs are available in 33 specialties at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES). The 16 specializations are available for the ordinary B.Tech. courses are also available for the specialized courses developed in partnership with IBM and XEBIA, which are available in 13 and 3 specializations, respectively.

Qualifications for UPES Dehradun’s B.Tech.

The minimal requirements for applying are 50% in both class 10 and 10+2, as well as 50% in each of the 10+2 courses of physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
Candidates seeking admission through the non-examination pathway must have 50% marks in PCM and 10+2 for board merit and 50% marks in PCM and 10+2 for JEE Main merit.
After the release of the JEE Main Result, the JEE Main Merit will be made public on the UPES website. Centralized counseling will be carried out using the JEE Main results and merit ranking.

B.Sc. and M.Sc.

The university offers a 2-year M.Sc. at the graduate level and a 3-year B.Sc. and B.Sc. (Hons) at the undergraduate level.
A PG program requires a minimum GPA of 50% in B.Sc. and 50% in 10th and 12th grades (PCMB). A minimum of 50% in PCM/PCB and 50% in classes 10 and 12 are required for admission to UG programmes.
Students who meet the requirements must fill out an application before being screened and being contacted for an interview.

LLB and LLM

The School of Law at UPES offers the BA LL.B., B.Com LL.B., BBA LL.B., and LL.M. degrees.
LLB programs last for five years, whereas LL.M. programs last for two years. The ULSAT exam administered by the institute is the basis for student admission to LLB programs, while the ULSAT-LL.M exam is the basis for student admission to LL.M programs.
A minimum of 50% marks in Classes 10 and 12 are required for admission to the BA, B.Com., and BBA LL.B. programmes.

BBA and MBA

BBA programs with several concentrations are offered by UPES Dehradun. Candidates for the course must have received 50% or above on their 10th and 12^th-grade exams. Admission to the BBA program requires candidates to sit for the UPESMET-UG entrance test.
UPESMET-UG Entrance Examination or Admissions through National Level Tests are used to determine admission to the BBA program.
For two years, UPES provides an MBA program with 11 specialties. To be admitted to this degree, applicants must pass the UPES Management Entrance Test (UPESMET).
While CAT, MAT, CMAT, NMAT, and XAT are examples of national-level entrance exams, UPES also provides admission through a non-examination pathway, which is based on a student’s performance on those exams.

Admissions to UPES

Online application forms are available for all UG and PG programs provided by UPES. To apply for the courses offered by UPES, students are advised to follow the instructions indicated below: Online Submission:

Whether you are an Indian resident or a foreign resident, click on your status.
Click the “Submit” button after entering the necessary information.
After submitting the form, UPES will send you an email asking you to confirm your email address and set up an account on the UPES website.
Send in your application and pay the INR 1350 application fee using a credit/debit card or net banking.

University Of Petroleum And Energy Studies [UPES Dehradun] Placement

For all recent graduates and post-graduate students, summer internships are crucial. Summer internship sessions last a minimum of 6 weeks and a maximum of 8 weeks.
2150 students received internship offers during the 2020 Summer Placement Drive in a variety of industry sectors, including Aviation, Power, Business Analytics, Design, Infrastructure, and Transportation.
One of the top gaming companies in the Netherlands provided the highest placement package, valued at INR 45 LPA. A CSE student majoring in B.Tech. bagged the bundle. Three other students from the School of Computer Science also received a bundle for INR 30 LPA.
The average placement package was 5.25 LPA in Indian rupees. The placement drives for the Schools of Design and Computer Science both ended with 100% placement rates and average CTCs of INR 6.30 and 5.36 LPA, respectively.
