Maulana Azad Scholarship 2024: Apply online, Last Date, Application Process, Selection Criteria

The Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship and Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF) programs are offered by the Maulana Azad Education Foundation, popularly known as Maulana Azad Scholarship. Meritorious students from minority backgrounds have access to the Maulana Azad national scholarship 2024 programs. The foundation for Maulana Abul Kalam Azad’s birth centennial celebrations was established by the Ministry of Minority Affairs of the Indian government.

Maulana Azad Scholarship Requirements

Minority groups like Muslims, Christians, Parsis, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Jains are the target audience for the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad scholarship 2024. The following are the requirements for the Maulana Azad Scholarship:

1) National Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship Requirements: 

  • The applicant should be a young girl from a minority group.
  • The candidate should be enrolled in grades 9 through 12.
  • The candidate must have passed the previous qualifying exam with at least 50% of the possible points (or an equal grade).
  • The applicant’s total annual family income should not be more than INR 2,00,000.

2) The National Fellowship of Maulana Azad Requirements:

  • The applicant must be a member of a minority group.
  • To qualify for the scholarship, an applicant must have passed the CBSE-NET, CSIR-NET, UGC-NET, or NTC exams. After completing the necessary test, they will be given the result for 2021.
  • They should be enrolled full-time in an accredited university’s MPhil or PhD program.
  • Students who identify as transgender may also apply.
  • The candidate should have earned at least a 55% of their master’s degree.
  • The applicant’s total annual family income should not be more than INR 6,00,000.

Rewards and Advantages of Maulana Azad Scholarship

Through admission, course, and maintenance fees, Maulana Azad online scholarship offers financial aid to students. The Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system will be used by the government to transfer the Maulana Azad scholarship money directly to the student’s bank account. The following benefits of the Maulana Azad scholarship are listed:

1) National Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship

  • Candidates enrolled in Class 9 or 10 are awarded a scholarship worth INR 5,000 annually.
  • Candidates in Class 11 or 12 are eligible for a scholarship worth INR 6,000 annually.

2) The National Fellowship of Maulana Azad

  • For the first two years (JRF), a fellowship amount of INR 31,000 is provided, and INR 35,000 is provided for the remaining term (SRF).
  • The contingency amount for candidates pursuing humanities, social sciences, and commerce is INR 10,000 per year for the first two years and INR 20,500 per year for the final three.
  • Candidates who choose to major in science receive a contingency sum of INR 12,000 per year for the first two years and INR 25,000 per year for the following three.
  • The applicants who are physically and visually impaired additionally receive escorts’/readers’ assistance worth INR 2,000 per month.

Maulana Azad Schlorship Application Procedure

On the official websites, students can find the Maulana Azad scholarship 2024 online application. The websites and application procedures for the two programs, however, differ.

1) National Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship

Through the Maulana Azad Education Foundation Scholarship Portal, applicants can submit their applications for the scholarship online.

The following describes the step-by-step application procedure:

  1. Applicants should create an account on the Maulana Azad Education Foundation scholarship portal if this is their first time applying.
  2. On the home page, select the “Student Registration” tab.
  3. The candidate must fill out the registration form with personal information such as their name, parents’ names, place of residence, phone number, address, etc.
  4. After verifying its accuracy, the applicant should “Submit” the registration form.
  5. The students will be sent a link to download the school verification form after submitting the registration form.
  6. The applicant needs to download the school verification form and have the local school principal certify it. This document must be uploaded along with the online application for the Maulana Azad Education Foundation Scholarship.
  7. The candidate should input their registered mobile number and birthdate to log in to the official website.
  8. The applicant should complete the Maulana Azad scholarship 2024 online form with bank information, academic information, parents’ employment information, and income information.
  9. All supporting documentation and a scanned copy of the school verification form should be uploaded by the applicants.

2) The National Fellowship of Maulana Azad

The candidate should go to the UGC website.

  • To view a list of all the scholarships and fellowships that UGC offers, students should click the “View All” link on the scholarships/fellowships page.
  • Select the “Apply Now” button for the Maulana Azad National Fellowship for Minority Students under the Fellowships category.
  • Before clicking “Proceed for Registration,” carefully read the instructions.
  • Complete the Scholarship registration procedure by entering all the required information. To download the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad scholarship application form, a registration ID is generated.

Maulana Azad Documents needed

Candidates should fill out and submit the Maulana Azad Foundation Scholarship Form online together with all necessary supporting documentation.

1) National Scholarship for Begum Hazrat Mahal

  • A passport-sized photo.
  • Scanned copy of the school verification form with the principal’s signature.
  • Certified copy of the most recent qualifying exam score report.
  • Certification of parental income.
  • Certificate from the applicant’s minority community that is self-attested.
  • Copy of the first page of the bank passbook that has been self-attested.
  • Aadhar card copy.

2) For the National Fellowship of Maulana Azad

  • A color photo the size of a passport.
  • Certificate of domicile.
  • Certified certificate from a minority community.
  • If necessary, a handicapped certificate.
  • Letter of NET/JRF award or if the award letter has not yet been received, mark the sheet.
  • Master’s degree transcript of grades.
